Mama Liz’s in Stamford was buzzing, a full night of local talent, community, and live music energy. Darcey Caughey, Nick Corney & The Buzz Rats, and Yodaclub set the tone, each bringing their own flavour of vocals, groove, and crowd-engaging chaos. And then the main event began.
Stevie Jones & The Wildfires took the stage and delivered an unforgettable performance of their new album ‘Clarity In Dusk’, a reflective, powerful, and worldly-minded body of work.
Stevie (vocals/guitar), Alfie (guitar), Dave (drums), and Bob (bass) were fully in their element. You could feel the chemistry, the kind that only comes from lived experience, shared stories, and a genuine love for the craft.
A Night Filled With Energy, Storytelling & Connection
You might already recognise their lead single ‘Carmen’, a regular on Revolution Radio and a listener favourite. Hearing it live only amplified its emotion.
Throughout the set, the band brought their 9-track album to life:
Violet Lane
Come In From The Rain
Carmen
Do Or Die
False Gods
Broken Doll
Clarity In Dusk
Eras
Gone But Not Forgotten
Every track was met with huge applause — clapping, dancing, singing, and those rich, immersive instrumental moments that remind you why live music matters.
Stevie’s natural stage presence created an intimate connection with the room. Between songs, he shared stories behind the writing — touching on life changes, emotional phases, and the bigger picture of what’s happening in the world.
“Stevie expresses his truth — it will inspire people.” – Gabriella & Tony
A Thought-Provoking, Soulful Album
‘Clarity In Dusk’ isn’t just music — it’s reflection.
The album explores personal evolution, societal shifts, and the emotional transitions we all face. There’s a deep sincerity to Stevie’s delivery that draws you in, while The Wildfires add layers of warmth, passion, and unity.
“Great chemistry on stage — fantastic band.” – Jules
Tracks like False Gods, Clarity In Dusk, and Eras especially stand out for their honesty and commentary on life today — both individually and collectively.
It is great to have these discussions as there are many independent musicians, artists, and bands that may feel inspired by these talks and experienced musicians like Stevie Jones and The Wildfires, these conversations also express how much local music really matters and how we can and should support our local music scenes as much as we can.
The album artwork and merchandise are inspiring and powerful and align perfectly with the album! - Designed and Produced by Music Bragg.
A very successful evening for all of the wonderful and talented musicians involved, the media crew from Music Bragg Neil, Natasha, and Dan, the staff and venue management at Mama Liz's, and of course Stevie Jones and The Wildfires.
"Stevie Jones and The Wildfires are absolutely brilliant. Highlighting important environmental and societal issues" - Music Bragg
I personally have learned a lot from Stevie Jones and The Wildfires and have been inspired by their realism, compassion, and ability to perform and express truths. I highly recommend listening to tracks 'False Gods', 'Clarity In Dusk', and 'Eras', which present some of these truths and really get you thinking about life today in a personal but also collective manner.
Speaking of 'Eras', I hope that we can all continue to help support and pave the way for our local and independent musicians, grassroots venues, and any local music-related businesses, to break through a new era of our own.
